Y-Defender is a Tier 3 ship in Starblast.io. It fires a large pulse from the front that does high damage and has slight knockback on the target and slight recoil. It uses up its energy supply very quickly. It fires once every second with full energy. It is fairly slow and not very agile.

The Y-Defender is the strongest Tier-3 ship in the game, but is also the slowest. A fully upgraded Y-Defender is capable of standing toe-to-toe against ships of much higher tiers, but is overwhelmed against multiple opponents.

It is recommended to upgrade Energy Regeneration first playing as this ship. It is also recommended not to attempt to fight a Y-Defender without an un-upgraded ship, no matter which tier. While a fully upgraded Y-Defender is very effective, a Y-Defender without damage upgraded can be especially deadly, due to high regeneration rate.

Its low speed, however, is its main weakness. Fast and agile ships can defeat the Y-Defender by means of hit-and-run. Never run away when attacked by a faster ship.

The Y-Defender resembles the Y-Wing from the Star Wars Universe. It might be inspired from it.
